ABOUT WILDERNESS COACHING
Don Marshall is a trained Ultimate Coach and is also qualified in using a ‘Counselling or Therapeutic Approach’ to help us work through many types of life’s issues and problems together.

For Wilderness Coaching think - WALK & TALK which can be anywhere but to that we can add many other outdoor activities and not just walking.

Wilderness coaching is about taking conversations outdoors into a neutral and natural environment that is both therapeutic and more suitable for those difficult to discuss topics.

The location and level of "Wilderness" can be tailored to the individual and can be anything from a walk in a local park to climbing a mountain. Other activities like paddle boarding, kayaking and rock climbing can also be included.

Don can come to you wherever you live, but the most benefit will be if you can come to Scotland where we have some breathtaking places to explore as well as exploring whatever topics need discussed.

There are also options of residential stays with or without activities such as Kayaking, Paddleboarding, Mountain Biking and Camping that can be combined with coaching sessions.

And of course for those where it is not practical or possible to meeting person or outdoors then Don also offers online sessions on Zoom or Teams to suit.

BREAK

This program is about confronting and dismantling whats been holding you back. Past trauma, limiting beliefs, toxic habits & false identities. It's uncomfortable, raw and absolutely essential.

BUILD

Reconstruct your mindset, identity and lifestyle. This program is about conscious creation. You design the version of you that you want to become and we start building it, mentally, physically & emotionally.

BECOME

Mid Life Crisis? Step into it, own it, live it. You begin to embody your new identity and live in that place. It is about sustained alignment and powerful momentum through actions and energy.

Either start at the beginning with a BREAK plan or choose from either BUILD or BECOME depending on what stage you are in your own personal growth and self awareness. Don't worry - Don can help you match the right Stage for you.

CHOOSE AN ACTIVITY

What have you always fancied doing? Kayaking on Loch Lomond, climbing Ben Nevis, Wild camping at 3,000 ft, wild swimming? You choose..... Don can facilitate a whole host of outdoor activities for different levels of experience, confidence and ability. From a simple walk to a real adventure and even online.

BOOK YOUR DATES

Schedule your dates and programme with Don. This can be spread over weeks or months or via intensive days grouped together. Many factors can influence this and flexibility is the key and we are as flexible as possible when it comes to your needs and development.

GET SET

Full details of venue, equipment and clothing etc will be provided. There will also be an element of pre-work assigned to help you formulate your own goals and outcomes ahead of starting the program.

GO

Once the program is started then fexibility is the key, weather, fitness levels and other factors such as progress through the program means that details and plans can be changed and adapted by agreement. The goal is to get you to where you want and need to be and how we get there is never a linear process.

ABOUT DON
Don is a trained life coach, a trainee therapist and qualified to use a ‘counselling approach’ in his coaching programmes. He is a business leader, mentor and motivational public speaker. He has over 30 years leadership and management experience gained in some amazing companies such as B&Q, IKEA, Dunelm Mill, Makro, Wolseley and AAH Pharmaceuticals to name a few.

He is a father, snowboarder, hiker, biker, camper and outdoors enthusiast. He does mountain biking, paddleboarding and kayaking as well as rock climbing and wild swimming.

Not only that, but Don has experienced and overcome many of life’s issues and traumas with a resilience that he wants to teach and pass on to others. He has experienced divorce, parental alienation, domestic abuse, major illness and operations, major accidents, the loss of work and the loss of close family members and his aim is to use these experiences, coupled with his training to help people break free from the issues and traumas holding them back for whatever reason.

Combining Outdoor Activities with Life Coaching and Therapy

Its well know that taking excercise in the outdoors is benficial for mental health and welbeing. Many people don't lik ethe idea of talking about thier problems in a closed and claustrophobic office. Therefore the aim is to get outside and particiate in an outdoor activity whilst talking things through. It's no heavy, there is no pressure as there are several hours to converse rather 45-50 minutes. Sessions can last a couple of hours, half a day, a full day or a series of days either together or spread across several weeks or months. Maybe you always fancied learning a new skill like paddleboarding but don't know where to begin? Maybe you fancy exploring some of the mazing scenic places in Scotland? If time is an issue then Don could even come to you wherever you are and work with you in a more cnvernient location. All plans are tailor made but based on some specific package deals.

Paddle Sports

The aim is combine an outdoor activity with coaching and therapeutic work. Paddle sports such as paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing offer a blend of adventure, tranquility and nature that help conversations flow. Don is a qualified Paddle Sports Instructor, has his Paddlesports Safety and Rescue qualification as well as Outdoor First Aid to support you in safe manner.

Walking

Walking

The aim is combine an outdoor activity with coaching and therapeutic work. Walking can be tailored to every individual from a short walk in a park to a full on climbing up a mountain plus all inbetween. Scotland is a beautiful place with a wealth of nature and being outdoors is therapeutic in itself. Some of the best and easilest conversations flow when you are walking outdoors. Don is a qualified in Navigation, Hill Walking as well as Outdoor First Aid to support you in safe manner.

Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is an amazing way to push yourself ot of your comfort zone, learn new skills and experience the thrill of climbing both outdoors and indoor. Don has bene trained to coach basic rock climbing skills and rope work in a safe environment which also helps for meaningful conversations.

Wild Camping

Wild Camping

Wild camping is a full blown adventure in itself and can be combined with other activities such as kayaking or walking. Spending time in the great Scottish wilderness is therpauetic in stsef and allows time for talking without any pressure and the distractions of life.

4x4 Off Road Experiences

Experience the thrill and freedom of exploring in Scottish outdoors in a custom Jeep Wrangler. In any case this will be the mode of transport no matter what activity you choose and its an experience in itself. The ability to reach places that take hours to walk to and still enjoy the outdoor experience is a rare thing and helps with talking and sharing what needs to be shared.
